Permanent Sub-Sill Water Management for Windows and Doors

The Dura Sill Pan is a 19mm thick precision-machined PVC sill pan designed to provide a reliable, permanent solution for sub-sill water management beneath windows and doors. Installed within the rough opening, over the weather-resistant barrier (WRB), its innovative three-in-one design combines an integrated back dam, raised window support blocks and a 5° drainage slope to direct incidental moisture towards the exterior while providing a second line of defence against water ingress.

By integrating window support, moisture protection and positive drainage into a single durable component, Dura Sill Pan simplifies window preparation, reduces the need for conventional window packers and eliminates the need for separate sloping strips. Suitable for a wide range of residential construction applications, including Passive House projects, prefabricated construction, architecturally designed homes, renovations, extensions and volume residential building, Dura Sill Pan provides a practical and consistent approach to sub-sill water management.

Three Key Features of Dura Sill Pan 

1. Integrated Back Dam

The raised internal back dam provides a physical barrier to help prevent incidental water within the sill cavity from migrating towards the building interior. Combined with correctly sealed junctions and a continuous drainage path, it provides an additional layer of moisture protection beneath the window frame.

2. Raised Window Support Blocks

Raised support blocks are positioned at 300mm intervals along the sill pan, providing designated mounting points for the window frame. This integrated design reduces the need for conventional window packers, simplifying installation while maintaining a continuous drainage channel beneath the window.

3. Built-in 5° Drainage Slope

The built-in 5° fall directs incidental moisture towards the exterior, eliminating the need to install a separate sloping strip beneath the sill pan. To establish a continuous drainage path, the front lip of the Dura Sill Pan must be integrated with the WRB below using VapourSeal Multi-Purpose Tape or FlashLock, allowing collected moisture to drain towards the exterior.

Simple and Effective Installation

Dura Sill Pan is designed for straightforward installation within the window or door rough opening, reducing preparation time and the need for additional sill components. Simply select a pan length to suit the rough opening, trim to the required dimensions on-site and mechanically secure it through the integrated mounting blocks using suitable screws. Once positioned, seal all corner junctions and butt joints using a compatible MS Polymer Hybrid Sealant, ensuring a continuous, watertight connection. The front lip must also be integrated with the WRB below using VapourSeal Multi-Purpose Tape or FlashLock to maintain a continuous drainage path to the exterior.
